Propolis or bee glue is a resinous mixture that honey bees produce by mixing saliva and beeswax with tree resin (you may have chewed this as a kid – tree gum) In a beehive, propolis is used to maintain the health of the colony, in cosmetics, propolis is commonly used for its healing, antiseptic and restorative capabilities. With help from St. FX, we now know how to extract those anti-bacterial properties without destroying them and use in our Propolis Salve. Makes for a wonderful daily moisturizing cream with a little going a long way. Note: An allergic reactions to propolis may occur, particularly in people who are allergic to bees or bee products.
Ingredients: Jojoba Oil – Jojoba oil has soothing anti-inflammatory agents, healing properties, is moisturizing, and is a natural antimicrobial. Jojoba oil mimics our skin’s natural oils and can penetrate at a deeper level, is naturally gentle and non-irritating, making it perfect for basically every skin type.
Beeswax – Beeswax carries antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that are essential in fighting chapped skin and bacterial infections that tend to affect us most in the dry, winter months. It forms a protective wall by sealing in moisture in our skin without smothering and clogging up the pores.
