With the bees all moved again and the bulk of the new hives (nucs!) completed, I thought it was time to share some of the more interesting news stories involving honey that have been making the rounds of my inbox.
- The Telegraph UK has a very interesting article on the problems with pollination in the UK due to the virtual distruction of the wild bee population – and what the government is doing to fix the situation.
- The Guardian UK, in a similiar piece to The Telegraph UK article linked above, talks about urban beekeeping and the rewards of the hobby.
- The Epoch Times has a short write up on the healing properties of Honey.
- tampabay.com has a piece on the state of Florida’s new legislation regulating honey. So far, Florida is the only state in the US to regulate Honey – despite wide spread concerns over pesticide laden, imported honey from overseas and South America.
