Oh no! There was a problem with the little hamster that runs my Guestbook and some of the entries may have been lost! Everything is ok now, we bought him a new wheel and the Guestbook is now working fine.

The June 2009 issue of Prevention magazine has a wonderful article on the “complex taste and amazing versatility” of honey. It is definitely worth a look! Aside from a delightful description of the many properties of honey there are also some delicious looking recipes too!
Here are a few interesting excerpts:
“Whether it comes from a bear-shaped squirt bottle or a fresh, dripping comb, honey out delivers sugar. Besides simple sweetness, it has an intriguing flavor all its own and health-boosting antioxidants to boot. Another bonus: Honey retains moisture and therefore keeps baked goods from getting dry and stale.”
“Honey differs considerably in taste, depending on what plants the busy bees pollinate. If the label on the jar doesn’t specify a particular blossom or simply indicates wildflower, the honey contains a blend from various nectars. The names of single-bloom honeys state the source–like lavender, orange blossom, or eucalyptus.”
